Obverse

a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, above it along the rim the inscription in a semicircle ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) framed with paired diamonds on both sides, under the coat of arms are the chemical symbol and fineness of the metal on the left and fine metal content and the mint mark on the right, at the bottom centre in three lines are the inscription ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), the coin denomination ‘2 РУБЛЯ’ (2 RUBLES), and the year of issue ‘2025 г.’ (2025).

Kayum Nasiry (1825–1902) is a Tatar educator, scientist, encyclopaedist, teacher, and writer.

Kayum Nasiry dedicated his life to education and popularisation of his mother tongue, made a tremendous contribution to the development of the national culture and the culture of the peoples living in Tatarstan. He published over 40 scientific papers and textbooks in Tatar. Kayum Nasiry laid the foundation for learning the Tatar language: he is the author of A Brief Tatar Grammar and the work on the Tatar grammar Enmuzadzh and the publisher of the first explanatory Tatar dictionary in two volumes. The yearbooks that he released for many years are considered to be the basis for Tatar journalism. Kayum Nasiry studied medicine and authored history, geography, and botany books, including the widely known work on medicinal plants Flowers and Herbs. The educator’s lifework is a massive volume of his unique sermons and lectures Fruits for Interlocutors.
